Achieve, by a detachment from material things present everywhere in business and in daily life, an original and absolutely free expression is an essential need, an "inner necessity" as Kandinsky would say. But now I prefer to have a great name of the painting world "speak" for me to justify this site:  "Thus, fuelled by a mood of challenge and subversion which was at the source of the creation and, at the same time, a willingness to affirm this subversion, to give it full body and full sense by making it public, the artist finds himself called upon by two conflicting aspirations, the first, to avoid any social participation, to distance himself more and more on all common points of view, preserving as far as possible his differentiation, and, as a consequence, preserving himself from gazes and contacts, and the second, on the contrary, to manifest his positions by showing his work and by giving his protest the publicity without which it would remain an arrow with no target".
